In a strongly connected world, the destiny of humanity has been closely tied together. Countries are seeking for international collaboration for development in the face of growing global problems while the increasing uncertainties and instabilities impact on the international order and globalisation. The world today faces choices such as protectionism or openness, cooperation or conflicts, unilateralism or multilateralism.

China added the concept “A Community with Shared Future for Mankind” into its Constitution in 2018. To build a community for all mankind provides a significant perspective of world development. Since Economic Reform in 1978, China has experienced a dramatic transformation and developed more economic, political, social and cultural exchanges with other countries. In the new era, China is playing an active role in international cooperation and global governance with other responsible organisations and states. Looking into the future, it is necessary to explore possible opportunities as well as challenges regarding the shared future of humanity. Thus, BPCS 2020 Annual Conference will share insights on diverse aspects of global life and contribute to our understanding of a changing world.
